It's a sure sign of spring when Coquitlam's Como and Lafarge lakes are stocked with young rainbow trout that will be the quarry of recreational urban fishers through to the fall. The fish weigh about 180 grams and they're sterilized to ensure they don't overwhelm the local ecosystem.
Diana Koller, a senior fish culturist wiht the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC, said the lakes will be stocked a few times through the spring, and then again in the fall.
