Last Saturday’s (March 4) signature fundraising event for SHARE Family and Community Services brought in more than $200,000 for social services in the Tri-Cities.
Titled "A Tri-Cities Night Out," the annual Imagine gala at the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver in Coquitlam raised $60,000 more than the charity’s goal.
The proceeds — raised through ticket sales, a 50–50 draw and a silent auction that included a trip for two anywhere that WestJet flies — will go toward SHARE services such as the food bank in Port Moody, as well as supports for refugees, and kids and youth with developmental delays and disabilities and those battling addictions and school bullies.
Several hundred gala attendees spent the evening socializing, dancing to tunes from DJ TDM and sampling food from Tri-Cities eateries such as the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver, Orrange Kitchen and Bar, Mr. Mike's Steakhouse Casual, The Golden Boot, Pasta Polo, Doughnut Love, Cassandra Cake Co., Cannoli King and PoCo Sweet Shop.
And accolades were dished out to:
- The Golden Boot (People’s Choice: Best Savoury Dish winner)
- Cannoli King (People’s Choice: Best Sweet Dish winner)
- Pasta Polo (VIPs Choice: Best Savoury Dish winner)
- Cassandra Cake Co. (VIPs Choice: Best Sweet Dish)
If you were not able to attend the event, which was presented by Wesbild and sponsored in part by the Tri-City News, you can still contribute by visiting SHARE's website.
