As the rainy season retires once again and the sun begins to peak its head over the horizon to welcome the summer season, it's time to dive into the exciting array of outdoor adventures and enriching activities we’ve long been anticipating during the cold inside months.
And with the school year rapidly winding to a close, what better place for kids to do all of the above than at summer camp?
That’s right, parents! It’s time to indulge in the best of both worlds, a much-deserved break for you and a summer filled with laughter, learning, and limitless fun for your young ones.
Whether your child is a budding coder, an outdoor enthusiast, an aspiring artist or an ambitious athlete, there's a camp waiting to ignite imaginations, foster friendships and create memories to last a lifetime.
Check out these four sensational summer camps in the Tri-Cities to celebrate and say hello to summer!
Sasamat Outdoor Centre
Arguably the most highly anticipated aspect of summer is the rain clouds clearing, the temperatures rising and the sun finally emerging from its slumber for a long overdue salutation. What does this all mean? It’s time to get back outside!
Sasamat Outdoor Centre offers play-based learning and outdoor experiences for children aged four to 16 in a natural space while still being close to home. Just 45 minutes from Vancouver, Sasamat is an accessible outdoor centre for all in the Lower Mainland that believes time spent outdoors is time well spent, especially when we have the privilege of doing so together.
From fostering leadership skills in older kids to promoting a passion for the outdoors in your little ones, Sasamat instills the philosophy that the possibilities are as endless as your child’s potential.
While spaces are filling up fast, some of the centre’s incredibly popular summer camps, including the Ridgerunners, Counsellor-in-Training and Sasamites programs still have availability.
Reserve your spot before spaces run out by visiting sasamat.org.
DanceForce
Encourage your child to embrace their inner artist through the magic of movement at The DanceForce. Studio. Fostering an inclusive, supportive and enriching environment, children can pursue their passions and freely express themselves in both competitive programs and recreational classes.
Catering to children aged two to 18, students can indulge their creativity while building their skills in a diverse range of genres, including ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, musical theatre, acro, lyrical and contemporary. Children of all experience levels are welcome to join in on the excitement and celebration of dance through creative programs such as Cirque Dreams Acro, “Dancin’ Through the Decades,” Hop Hop, Princess Tea Party or the ever-timely “In My Dance Era” Swiftie Camp.

Code Ninjas
In our ever-evolving digital landscape, equipping children with the techniques to utilize technology is crucial to setting them up for success. Still, it’s not all spreadsheets and emails.
Code Ninjas, the world’s largest and fastest-growing kid's coding franchise – with over 400 locations in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom – offers a variety of spring, summer and winter camp coding programs where children learn problem-solving, critical thinking and STEM skills in a fun, safe and inspiring environment.
Focusing on how kids aged five to 14 learn, Code Ninjas teaches coding through game development using an in-person curriculum with real instructors. This approach allows students to receive hands-on coding experience and retain information better while building future-proof skills.
