Renovations at two Tri-City properties will be shown off as part of the Greater Vancouver Home Builders Association's (GVHBA) 25th annual Parade of Homes on Sunday.
A main floor renovation at 401 Goyer Court in Coquitlam "has been designed to maximize space and functionality with an open floor concept and a rebuilt deck to provide the perfect indoor/outdoor living space," said a GVHBA news release.
According to the release, the homeowners wanted a main floor free of walls because their existing home was dark and the usable space small. The renovation done by RJR Construction created storage and the appearance of more space by opening the kitchen to the living room.
The renovation at 3 Linden Court in Port Moody by My House Design/Build Team centered around a new concrete deck and steps with a glass and beam cover. In addition, large sliding doors lead from the deck into a new chef's kitchen.
Donations for the 14-home tour, which stretches from West Vancouver to Langley, will go toward two training programs offered at two Surrey high schools. More information on all the homes on the tour, which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, and a map are available at gvhba.org. Virtual tours of the homes, and 10 more not on the tour, are also available at gvhba.org/parade.
