A two-storey mall along the Evergreen Extension line in Coquitlam is up for sale.
This week, the real estate firm CBRE announced Henderson Place Mall in Coquitlam City Centre is listed along with two other properties in the Henderson Retail Portfolio: International Village and Paris Square, in Vancouver’s Chinatown.
A CBRE official was not immediately available for comment; however, the company stated on its website the three retail sites “offer investors opportunities to dramatically increase value through redevelopment and repositioning strategies.”
Built by the Hong Kong-based Henderson Land Development in 1999 at the corner of Pinetree Way and Lincoln Avenue, Henderson Place Mall has 245,000 sq. ft. of commercial and office space in its 142,841 sq. ft. building, on 6.18 acres.
David Munro, Coquitlam’s economic development manager, told The Tri-City News today (Thursday) the mall sale “comes at an opportune time” as the City Centre densifies.
“The investment group that purchases Henderson Place Mall will have the opportunity to grow with City Centre as it moves towards becoming a complete downtown with a variety of places to live, work and play,” Munro said.
