The Editor,
My father and I were driving back home on the northbound lane of Pitt River Road on Monday, April 29, when a white pickup truck travelling on the southbound lane crossed over the line and headed straight for us.
I managed to swerve to avoid a head-on collision but the truck still managed to hit the rear passenger side of our car and fled the scene. We were fortunate to be unharmed and that several witnesses came to our aid. I'd like to thank the Janis who quickly called the authorities, the gentleman who followed after the hit-and-run driver and got a license plate number and description, and the other gentleman who helped push our car so it wouldn't block traffic.
The witnesses were all very helpful and stayed with us until the police arrived. We are very grateful for all of their help and I regret that I wasn't able to get all of their names.
Thanks to their assistance we were able to get this incident resolved with ICBC without any complications.
