The Editor,
Re. "PoMo park pay parking?" (The Tri-City News, July 12).
As a Coquitlam resident, I would implore Port Moody's mayor and council to reconsider charging non-residents to park at Rocky Point Park. My family and now my grandchildren have been enjoying the park for many years and never once have we had a problem with parking.
Yes, we are non-residents but if Port Moody starts charging for parking, where will it end? Will Coquitlam start charging non-residents to enjoy Mundy Park and will Port Coquitlam start charging non-residents to park at their lacrosse and soccer fields?
I think it's a bad idea to charge for parking at any park as it may discourage some people from enjoying our public spaces.
