Coquitlam RCMP investigators were recently found to have breached a man's Charter rights five times while they investigated his role in an alleged fraud and theft scheme spanning 13 municipalities

Re: “Massive fraud investigation collapses after Coquitlam RCMP breach man's Charter rights,” (March 19, Tri-City News)

Your article on the RCMP breach of charter rights in a "massive" fraud case is yet another blow to trust in policing.

What's worse are the actions of those responsible.

The Superintendent in charge during the investigation, Maloney, retired, but moved on to a job with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada, shortly after the police ineptitude was coming to light.

Then Superintendent Fellner quits after only one year on the job to take a lateral move.

Call me cynical, but we need better from the RCMP and the whole debacle should be investigated. I only hope Mayor Brad West takes this up.
