The Editor:
Recently our government has asked us to drive our cars only when necessary and carpool where possible, due to a shortage of gasoline. There even has been a 30 L gas quota per fill up.
However, to my shock, I noticed that recently the price of gasoline has been reduced by eight cents. Does this mean there is NO shortage?
Wouldn't it be wonderful if the gasoline prices would have stayed the same? The extra money — of eight cents per litre — could have gone to rebuilding our road system, or support people who might be temporarily displaced.
Lower gasoline prices are not an incentive for driving less.
