Is there a better time of year to be a (hungry) resident of British Columbia? Chilliwack corn. Okanagan peaches and cherries. Blueberries and other produce from the Fraser Valley.
This beautiful B.C. bounty offers summer meal possibilities aplenty. And it's a reminder of the enormous value to our province of its farmers.
In the Tri-Cities, shoppers are fortunate they can go directly to the source for juicy blueberries. They can also take advantage of a nature's riches at the region's three farmers' markets, supporting local growers:
Fridays, 3 to 7 p.m., Port Moody rec complex hosts a market;
Sundays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Coquitlam Farmers Market takes over the parking lot at Dogwood Pavilion, 624 Poirier St., Coquitlam (entrance off Winslow Avenue);
and Thursdays, 3 to 7 p.m., Port Coquitlam Farmers Market is held at Leigh Square, behind city hall;
We encourage you to check them out and enjoy the best of B.C.
