Coquitlam taxpayer wants her money back

The Editor, Re. "Welcome. That will cost $50k" (The Tri-City News, May 18). To Coquitlam's mayor and council: My taxes went up $400 last year and now there is a committee being struck on how to spend the surplus. Please return my $400.

To Coquitlam's mayor and council:

My taxes went up $400 last year and now there is a committee being struck on how to spend the surplus.

Please return my $400. I don't have to think about how I will spend it as there was no surplus in my household budget.

This is not a surplus it is a money grab.
