If you can help Port Moody, the Port Moody Foundation wants to help you.
The foundation has launched its 2020 granting cycle and is seeking expressions of interest from eligible local not-for-profit organizations needing financial support next year — from $200 to $2,000 — for projects and programs that will benefit people in Port Moody.
The foundation aims to help local charitable organizations that support its key focus areas, including: arts and culture, heritage, environment, sports and recreation, and improving lives for local residents.
In 2019 the Port Moody Foundation provided some $7,500 in funding grants to help local non-profits fulfill their goals of serving the community.
“Port Moody benefits from the many not-for-profit organizations that enrich and foster our environment, cultural and social sustainability,” said Robert Simons, the foundation's president, in a press release.

Expressions of Interest should be submitted online no later than Feb. 14, 2020. The foundation’s grant committee will then review all submissions and create a short list of those that best meet the funding criteria. Organizations selected will be notified before the end of February and will be requested to submit a more detailed funding application by March 31. Successful grant recipients will be notified in May 2020.

The Port Moody Foundation is in its 30th year. In addition to awarding grants, it seeks to connects residents, businesses and other organizations with its “Hello PoMo” program, Facebook groups to help connect residents in local neighbourhoods, the popular “PoMo Doggies” page and fundraiser, and other groups.
