The Cougars (14-6-0-0) top the WHL's Western Conference while the Giants rank among the bottom tier of teams in the conference at 8-11-1-0.
Vancouver snapped a three-game losing streak and ended Prince George's run of home wins at five straight.
Giants goalie Brett Mirwald made 38 saves for the win. His counterpart with Prince George, Ty Young, made 24.
Adam Titlbach, Jakob Oreskovic and Ty Halaburda were Vancouver's other goal scorers.
