6:30 p.m.
B.C. is reporting 84 new cases of COVID-19 since Wednesday along with two deaths.
The province says there are 729 active cases of the virus and 99 people have been hospitalized.
Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix say in a joint statement that nearly 78 per cent of eligible adults and 77.5 per cent of eligible youths have received a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
They also asked residents to check in on family members and friends as the province experiences high temperatures.

Saskatchewan is reporting 21 new cases of COVID-19 today and no new deaths.
Thirty-six more people have recovered, leaving the province with 405 active cases.
The province is also reporting 57 people in hospital, including 12 in intensive care.
Seventy-one per cent of Saskatchewan residents 12 and older have now received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
Forty-five per cent of those 12 and older are fully vaccinated.

Manitoba is reporting 145 new COVID-19 cases over the past two days – 54 today and 91 on Canada Day.
Health officials are also reporting seven deaths over the two-day span.
The five-day test-positivity rate has dropped again and stands at 5.4 per cent provincially and 4.8 per cent in Winnipeg.

Newfoundland and Labrador is reporting one new confirmed case of COVID-19 today.
Health officials say the case involves a man in his 40s and is related to travel within Canada.
Newfoundland and Labrador has four active reported cases of COVID-19.
There are no COVID-19-related hospitalizations in the province.

Nova Scotia is reporting two new cases of COVID-19 today.
Health officials say one new case is in the central zone and the other is in the eastern zone, which includes Cape Breton.
Nova Scotia has 47 active reported cases of COVID-19 and three people in hospital with the disease.

New Brunswick is reporting four new cases of COVID-19 today.
Health officials say the cases involve two people in the Moncton region and two in the Fredericton area.
New Brunswick has 25 active reported infections and five patients in hospital with the disease.
The province says 37.3 per cent of New Brunswickers aged 12 and older are fully vaccinated and 78.1 per cent of eligible residents have received at least one dose.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has received his second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
The prime minister got a shot of Moderna this morning, following his first dose of Oxford-AstraZeneca earlier this year.
He received his vaccine at a Rexall pharmacy in Ottawa where he told the pharmacist he was "very excited" to get his second dose.
Trudeau told her he had a tough night of slight chills and fevers after his first dose, and she warned it would be a little worse this time.
He said he knows, because his wife Sophie Gregoire Trudeau got her second dose yesterday and had a rough sleep.
The pharmacist injected the vaccine into his arm with his Indigenous tattoo and he thanked her and said, "It's that easy."

Quebec is reporting 69 new cases of COVID-19 today and three more deaths linked to the virus.
Health officials reported 93 new infections and four deaths on Thursday, but they didn’t release that data because of the Canada Day holiday.
Officials say hospitalizations dropped by three compared with the prior day, for a total of 110. The number of patients in intensive care remained unchanged at 34.
The province says 88,615 doses were administered on Thursday, with 81 per cent of Quebecers over 12 having received a first dose and 30 per cent of the total population considered fully vaccinated.

Ontario reports there are 200 new cases of COVID-19 in the province today and 284 cases on Thursday.
The province did not release data about the novel coronavirus on the Canada Day holiday.
Ontario reports 28 deaths linked to the virus over the two daily reports — 19 on Thursday and nine today.
Health Minister Christine Elliott says there are 41 new cases in the Region of Waterloo, 23 in Toronto, 21 in Peel Region and 18 in Grey Bruce.
