Three members of the Coquitlam Express are among the BC Hockey League’s top 40 prospects who will play in a special game Jan. 20 at the South Okanagan Events Centre in Penticton.
Forward Mirko Buttazzoni and Coco Armstrong, along with defensemen Jason Gallucci have been named to Team West at the league’s Top Prospects game.
Buttazzoni leads the Express in scoring this season with 27 points in 24 games. He, and teammate Mateo Dixon, will also participate in an outdoor three-on-three tournament that same weekend that’s part of the BCHL’s 60th anniversary celebrations.
Armstrong, who’s already committed to continue his hockey career at Clarkson University, has nine points in 20 games this season.
Gallucci has 21 points in 23 games, seventh best amongst all BCHL defensemen. He’s headed to Penn State University when his Junior A career ends.
Players in the prospects game were chosen by NHL Central Scouting as well as B.C.-based NHL scouts.
