Port Coquitlam's Triumph Taekwondo members were able to show off their skills at the the first ever World Martial Arts Games at the Richmond Olympic Oval earlier this month.
The team of 25 students put on a special demonstration at the four-day event, saw athletes from all over the world attend and compete. The Triumph members put on a 45-minute program of skills and techniques, showing everything from forms to combat skills to power board breaking.
"This was a great opportunity for members of our traditional Taekwondo community to get in front of the world to show what we are all about," said team organizer Kevin Reinelt. "The team had members ranging in age from 10 right up to age 50 and everyone had fun and did a great job."
Triumph Taekwondo was built in 2005 and is owned and operated by long-time PoCo resident Kevin and Ramona Reinelt.
