Port Moody's Libby Riedl (light blue headband) celebrates her goal for the University of Maine field hockey team in a match earlier this season against Quinnipiac University.
The junior, who graduated from Heritage Woods secondary school, was named to the America East All-Championship Team on Sunday after she led the Black Bears in scoring with nine goals and 10 assists. That was good enough to rank her in the top 50 players in the country in points scored per game.
It's also not the first accolade Riedl's earned since she led the Heritage Woods to Fraser Valley titles in 2012 and 214; in her freshman year at Maine she was selected to the America East All-Rookie Team as well as to the America East Commissioner's Honour Roll for achieving a 3.50 grade point average while scoring 25 points on the pitch.
