Time is ticking to place a bid in an online auction to support a Coquitlam-based charity that helps children who have lost a parent or sibling.
The Charlene Reaveley Children’s Charity Society (CRCSS) has its virtual fundraiser open until 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, offering a total of 149 prizes like:
- a seven-night stay in Huatulco, Mexico (value of $2,875)
- three one-night stays at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler
- tickets to the Whitecaps, BC Lions and Vancouver Canadians games
- a catered Indian dinner for 10 people
- Playland passes
Launched on April 4 — on what would have been Reaveley’s 44th birthday — the auction funds resources and services for grieving children after they have lost a parent or sibling, and helps them to rebuild their lives.
Specifically, the charity provides one-on-one counselling for kids and their parent, a lending library, bursaries for graduating students, camps and toys.
The charity is named after Reaveley, a Pinetree Secondary graduate and mother of four who lost her life to a drunk driver at the Lougheed Highway and Pitt River Road intersection in 2011.
Check out the online auction prizes via the charity website before April 11, 2024.
