Are you a SkyTrain enthusiast?
TransLink is calling for people to sign up for its new community volunteer program, which intends to help customers connect with communities.
Volunteers, stationed outside certain transit zones, will act as neighbourhood experts to help customers navigate the area, answering questions and directing riders during community events.
Shifts will be scheduled during peak service hours from Monday to Friday from 6 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m., and on an as-needed basis. Shifts will be about 3 to 4 hours.
TransLink says volunteers will be eligible to receive apparel, monthly draw prizes and other incentives, including employment opportunities.
TransLink will provide a one-day training course for volunteers; all volunteers must complete a background check.
If interested, you can sign-up on TransLink’s website.
