Schools across Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody and Anmore are open despite snow in higher elevations, according to a Tweet from School District 43.
However, if parents decide to keep their children home due to safety concerns, they are urged to call in the student absence.
Late arrivals should also be reported to the school office.
Some snow accumulations at higher elevations. Please be careful and account for the weather. As always, parents/guardians may assess their circumstances to decide if it is safe to attend school. Please report absences or late arrivals as all schools are open.

Many Tri-City residents are waking up to thick flakes of snow and some accumulations on city streets.
This comes after Environment Canada predicted snow at higher elevations due to a combination of a cooler air mass and precipitation.
"Local accumulations of up to 5 cm of wet snow may be possible under the more intense bands of convective precipitation and may affect road conditions for the morning commute," Environment Canada states in a special weather alert for Metro Vancouver.
