KidSport Sale
Bring a non-perishable food donation or cash to gain entry into the Poirier Forum (618 Poirier St., Coquitlam) for the biannual KidSport used gear sale, a fundraiser happening from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. that offers deals on gently used hockey, lacrosse, baseball and football equipment. Bikes are also on sale. Proceeds help pay for organized sporting registration fees for Tri-Cities families in financial need. Volunteers are sought.

Repair Café
Save your broken item from the landfill and have it fixed instead by one of the volunteers at the Repair Café, a monthly event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the City of Port Coquitlam's public works building (1737 Broadway St.). Donations are appreciated.

SK8 Jam
Join the United Way of BC at Mackin Park (1046 Brunette Ave., Coquitlam) for its Hi Neighbour initiative. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the organization hosts its second annual SK8 Jam — a free event that's aimed to bring youth together to enjoy all things skateboarding (and scootering) and to learn to take community ownership by caring for the park space. Several park clean-ups will occur during the event facilitated by the City of Coquitlam’s Park Spark team.

Bye Weeds
Get your boots on to help remove invasive plants from the green belt near Noons Creek Drive Park in Port Moody. Participants to the city event are asked to meet at Mountain Meadows Elementary (999 Noons Creek Dr.) at 9:30 a.m. Bring a water bottle. Attendees ages 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Cheer on the Coquitlam Express as the hockey team plays an exhibition game against Powell River at the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex (633 Poirier St.) at 7 p.m.

See the WHL Victoria Royals face off against the Prince George Cougars at an exhibition hockey game at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre (2150 Wilson Ave.) at 7 p.m. Tickets are $16.

Salsa Night
Slip on your dancing shoes for the Latin dance night with the Salsa Dance Zone featuring Alberto Gonzalez and Teresa Szefler. The party is from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Port Coquitlam branch of the Royal Canadian Legion (2675 Shaughnessy St.). Admission is $15 and is suitable for ages 19 and older. A dance lesson for beginners is from 8 to 9 p.m.
