Snap, Snap

Tomorrow is the deadline for photo submissions for the City of Port Moody’s 2024 civic calendar. Photo submissions of Port Moody are accepted from Tri-City residents.

Coquitlam Market

Grab your grocery bags and tour the parking lot next to Dogwood Pavilion in Coquitlam (1655 Winslow Ave.) for the weekly Poirier Street Farmers Market, which is on from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Talk to the vendors, and learn about where their food comes from and how it’s made.

Bye Weeds

Join officials with the Rotary Club of Port Moody, Noons Creek Hatchery and the City of Port Moody to pull invasive plants from the green belt at Thurston Terrace. Help the group tackle English Ivy that’s spreading through the forest. Meet at the trail entrance at Noons Creek Drive and Cunningham Place at 9 a.m. and wear appropriate clothing. Don’t forget a water bottle. Gloves, eye protection and tools will be provided. Participants ages 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Rock and Gem Show

The Port Moody Rock and Gem Club is back with its 42nd annual show and sale at the Kyle Centre (125 Kyle St., Port Moody) today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event theme is "Everything Rocks! An introduction to the lapidary hobby, rocks, minerals and geology." Admission is by donation.

First Repair Cafe

Got a small appliance or household item needing to be fixed? Take it to the Dogwood Pavilion (1655 Winslow Ave., Coquitlam) for the City of Coquitlam's inaugural Repair Cafe. Volunteers will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to help you with your broken piece — for free.

Family Day at PdA

Take the family to Place des Arts (1120 Brunette Ave., Coquitlam) for an art-filled afternoon led by the facility’s teachers, from 1 to 3 p.m. The fall-themed event is free; however, registration is encouraged via Eventbrite.ca.

The Wondrous Tree Fellowship hosts an afternoon for families to explore nature. Meet at the Kinsmen Hall (2175 Coquitlam Ave., Port Coquitlam) from 2 to 4:30 p.m. to hear live children's entertainment from Bill Marshall and Kate Smith and take part in activities.
