Winter Farmers Market

Grab your grocery bags and head to the Port Moody Recreation Complex (300 Ioco Rd., Port Moody) for the winter farmers market, run by the Grow Local Society. Tour the market between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to find fresh fare, meats and handcrafted items.

Original Art

Tour the Wellness Room at the Port Moody Recreation Complex (300 Ioco Rd.) today to shop for original art created by the members of the Port Moody Art Association for their 54th annual showcase, running from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. All pieces purchased on site can be taken home at the time of sale. This year’s featured artist is Dutch painter Carla Vermaat, a club member for two years.

Holiday Vendor Market

Shop for gifts early at the holiday market at Site B in Port Moody (3012 Murray St.) from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Entry is free.

Hear battlefield historian John Goheen talk about the First World War — and how we remember — at a Remembrance Day presentation at 1 p.m. at POMO Museum (2734 Murray St., Port Moody). Admission is by donation.

Talk with writers and readers — and pick up books — at the Authors Fair, on from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Port Moody Public Library (100 Newport Dr.).

Will’s Jams

Children’s entertainer Will Stroet, a Juno Award nominee, brings his playful tunes and stories to the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam (1205 Pinetree Way) for a family-friendly show from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Admission is $10.

Wrap-up Party

Celebrate the end of the Asian Impact Society’s art exhibit at Place des Arts in Coquitlam (1120 Brunette Ave.) with canapés and cocktails gathering from 4 to 6 p.m. The art display, which ends Nov. 9 at the Maillardville arts hub, is titled Your Art, Your Reflections. The wrap-up party is free. Participants can also vote on their favourite artwork.
