Go Canucks Go
The cities of Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam will host free public watch parties for Game 6 of the Canucks vs. Predators game at 4 p.m. In Coquitlam, the spectator seating and the concourse in Arena 1 at the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex (633 Poirier St., Coquitlam) is open so residents can watch the game via the video board. The concession will be open but there will not be alcohol sales. In Port Coquitlam, join the party at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre (2150 Wilson Ave.), where there are playoff food deals and prizes for attendees.

Blossoming Art
Teens ages 13 to 18 can be part of a night of art and music at Place des Arts (1120 Brunette Ave., Coquitlam) that’s organized by the Youth Arts Council during BC Youth Week. Chill out with the facility’s chamber ensemble and craft items from 5 to 7 p.m. Snacks will be served at the free event called Blossoming Arts with Petals of Friendship.

Be You Mandu
Join the Asian Arts and Culture Society — the people behind the BC Dumpling Festival in Coquitlam — as it launches its second children's book, Be You Mandu, at the Outpost (3001 St. Johns St., Port Moody). The event for the public is from 5 to 7 p.m. and includes children's activities and prizes. IPSE Mandoo, the award-winning mandoo vendor at the society's recent RBC Dumpling Tasting Soiree in Richmond, will have some frozen Korean mandoos on hand for sale at a special price of $20 per bag.

Art students at Terry Fox and Riverside secondaries in Port Coquitlam show their talent in the group exhibit Imaginings VI at Leigh Square. The opening reception for the show is from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Michael Wright Art Gallery in the Gathering Place (next to city hall at 200-2253 Leigh Sq., Port Coquitlam).

Midsummer Night’s Dream
Watch young actors at Dr. Charles Best Secondary in Coquitlam (2525 Como Lake Ave.) play out the Shakespearean fantasy/comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream in the school gym. Directed by drama teacher Brad Case, the play starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15/$12 at the door.

Elephant Man
The story of the life of John Merrick, who was born with rare skin and bone diseases, comes to life at the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam (1205 Pinetree Way) at 7:30 p.m. — courtesy of Stage 43 Theatrical Society. Written by Bernard Pomerance, the Elephant Man is the last play of the season. Tickets are $28/$24/$18.
