Free art

Families can tour the Michael Wright Art Gallery at Port Coquitlam’s Leigh Square (next to city hall) and make an art piece based on the current shows. The Art in the Gallery program runs on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon. There is no cost to attend. Art supplies will be provided. No registration is required.

Pride Fest at ECC

The Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam (1205 Pinetree Way) hosts a number of events today — sponsored in part by the Tri-City News — to celebrate Pride Season:

    • workshops in Evergreen Studio A
      • 1 p.m. = JoJo Zolina (dance)
      • 2 p.m. = Jerriana (drag makeup)
      • 3 p.m. = Theo Rhetical (drag bingo)
      • 4 p.m. = 2-spirited panel (speakers)
  • 7:30 p.m.
    • Pride Pirates and the Ship of Destiny (ticketed event by What The Frock Productions)

RibFest 2024

Bring your appetite to Rocky Point Park in Port Moody (2800-block of Murray Street) for the annual RibFest, a three-day feast organized by the Rotary Club of Port Moody. The grills will be fired up from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day. Entrance is by donation. Non-service dogs, off-site beverages and day tents are not permitted. The Tri-City News is a media sponsor. Volunteers are sought.

Coquitlam in Bloom

Head over to Dogwood Pavilion (1655 Winslow Ave.) for the city’s free public activities during Coquitlam in Bloom Week, July 14–21. The fun takes place from 2 to 5 p.m.

Legion music

Dance to the music of the Brian Zalo Mix, which plays at the Coquitlam branch of the Royal Canadian Legion (1025 Ridgeway Ave.) from 7 to 11 p.m.
