Dance Party
Enjoy Family Day early with the kids at an outdoor family dance party in the Terry Fox Hometown Square at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre (2150 Wilson Ave., Port Coquitlam) from 5 to 8 p.m. Hosted by Red Fox Healthy Living Society with artist J Peachy, and supported by the PoCo Youth Leadership Group, the event includes DJ music, an electric dragon, large-scale puppets, arts and crafts, pancakes with an artistic flair and live music from the Carnival Band.

Domestic Tension
Soha Sanajou, Panthea Vatandoost, Navid Charkhi, Nazanin Shoja and Mehdi Darvish star in Blackout Art Society’s play Echoes From Far Away Cities. The 85-minute show at 3:30 p.m. and at 7:30 p.m. at the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam (1205 Pinetree Way) is about a documentary filmmaker from Iran who gets involved with an acid attack victim as part of her movie project. It is suitable to viewers ages 17 and older. Tickets are $45/$38/$16.

Legion Night
Enjoy the tunes and jump on the dance floor at the Royal Canadian Legion branch 263 in Coquitlam (1025 Ridgeway Ave.) for a fun night with Front Page. The band hits the stage at 7 p.m.

Mamma Mia!
Sing along to the music from ABBA in Centennial Secondary Theatre’s musical production of Mamma Mia! in the school's theatre (570 Poirier St., Coquitlam). Tickets are $18/$15 online or at the door (cash only). The show runs two hours and 30 minutes, and starts at 7 p.m.

Salsa Moves
Dance to the Latin Beats with Alberto Gonzalez and Teresa Szefler of the Salsa Dance Zone as they host their party at Site B in Port Moody (3012 Murray St.). A dance lesson for beginners is at 8 p.m. while the dance floor opens at 9 p.m. The 19+ event runs until midnight. Admission is $15.
