Drop, cover
At 10:17 a.m., you can drop, cover and hold in an earthquake exercise with ShakeOut BC. The City of Port Coquitlam will also issue a city-wide test alert through its emergency notification system, Alertable, on Oct. 17 at 10:30 a.m following the ShakeOut BC drill.

Circus time
Circo Osorio returns with its big top to the Coquitlam Centre mall (2929 Barnet Hwy.) for family-friendly shows until Oct. 28. The tent is located kitty corner to H&M.

Rock Beats Cancer
Hear some great rock tunes and support the fundraiser Rock Beats Cancer at the Great Canadian Casino Vancouver (2080 United Way, Coquitlam), starting at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $75. The event is in tribute to Rocket Norton.

Opening Night
Stage 43 opens its 2024–25 season with Opening Night, a comedy by Norm Foster, at the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam (1205 Pinetree Way). The play at 7:30 p.m. is directed by Tiffany Markwart. Tickets are $30/$25.
