Bring your family, friends and leashed pets to Mackin House (1116 Brunette Ave., Coquitlam) for holiday photos in the parlour of the Edwardian heritage house. Appointments are available every 15 minutes during Mackin House’s opening hours from Friday to Sunday, in the last two weeks of November. The cost is $25 per session.

Lights at Lafarge
See the launch of this year’s Lights at Lafarge, a Coquitlam celebration of the start of the largest free outdoor winter lights display in Metro Vancouver. The kick-off is from 5 to 8 p.m. and includes entertainment and food. Take SkyTrain to the Lafarge Lake–Douglas station as parking in and around Town Centre Park is limited. There is no public parking at the Evergreen Cultural Centre for light viewers.

Urban coyotes
Learn how to live with wild coyotes in the Tri-Cities. The Stanley Park Ecology Society will offer a free information session to residents about coyote breeding behaviours, common myths and misconceptions about the animal, how to respond in coyote encounters and tips for managing trash. The session, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Glenayre Community Centre in Port Moody (492 Glencoe Dr.), is open to all ages.

Warren Miller 75
Watch the film 75 by Warren Miller at a viewing event at 7 p.m. at the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam (1205 Pinetree Way). Presented by The Lift, the movie celebrates skiing and snowboarding, as well as outdoor adventures. Partial proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to KidSport.

The Sunny Matharu Trio performs at PoMoArts (2425 St. Johns St., Port Moody) at 7 p.m., courtesy of the Vancouver Intercultural Orchestra. Matharu will be joined by Sharanjeet Mand (sitar) and Nirmal Nair (bansari flute). Tickets include a glass of wine and snacks.

Miracle on 34th
See the POMO Players in the play Miracle on 34th Street at 7 p.m. at the Inlet United Church (2315 Spring St., Port Moody). Directed by Lisa Pope, the show is adapted by Mountain Community Theater from the novel by Valentine Davies. It is the inaugural production for the new community theatre troupe.

Hear music from the PoCo Sweethearts — aka Mark and Linda Kozina — and The Side Project at the bimonthly Crossroads Coffeehouse, a fundraiser for the Tri-City hospice, happening in the Gathering Place at Leigh Square (200-2253 Leigh Sq., Port Coquitlam). Doors open at 7 p.m. and music starts at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $10. The event is a celebration of 25 years of the coffeehouse concerts.
