Jug Island hike

Lace up your runners for a day hike to Jug Island and Admiralty Point with the Burke Mountain Naturalists. The moderate hike at təmtəmíxʷtən Regional Park (formerly known as Belcarra) includes time for a lunch in the picnic area before the second hike to Admiralty Point. The roundtrip for both walks is nine kilometres. Meet at 9 a.m. and return at 3 p.m.

Repair Café

Don’t toss your broken items. Get them fixed by volunteers at the monthly Repair Café, on from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Port Coquitlam Public Works Yard (1737 Broadway St.). Donations are accepted. The event is in partnership with the Rotary Port Coquitlam Centennial.

Port Moody art

Check out the original art by members of the Port Moody Art Association at their 55th annual “Art To Go” show and sale, happening from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Port Moody Recreation Complex (300 Ioco Rd.).

Salmon run

Join a nature walk with the representatives from the Hoy Creek Watershed Society to learn about returning salmon. The adventure starts at the City Centre branch of Coquitlam Public Library (1169 Pinetree Way) at 10:30 a.m. The program is suitable for ages six and up.

Canadian veterans

Catch the Remembrance Day talk at the POMO Museum (2734 Murray St., Port Moody) at 1 p.m. Guest speaker Brian McConaghy will discuss Canadian veteran Lawrence Goodship and his acts of courage. After the war, he moved into the Appleyard House in Port Moody and became the city’s post master.

Rockin’ the 263

Dance to the live music from Black Eyed Susan at the Coquitlam branch of the Royal Canadian Legion (1025 Ridgeway St.) from 7 to 11 p.m.

Sexy Laundry

The Arts Club on Tour presents Sexy Laundry, a play about Alice and Henry who have lost their mojo in their 25-year marriage. The show runs at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam (1205 Pinetree Way). Tickets are $52/$44/$16.

Music trivia

Support the 1st Anmore Scouts and the Parent Advisory Committee of Anmore Elementary as it raises funds at their Pub Night Music Trivia event at the Anmore Community Hub (2697 Sunnyside Rd.). Money collected will go to the Scouts’ volunteer trip to Costa Rica and to buy new technology for the school. Tickets at $20 include the cover charge, door prize entry and four rounds of trivia; food and drinks are available for purchase. The event from 6 to 10 p.m. is for adults only.

Middle Eastern sounds

Composer and guitarist Itamar Erez will join Karl DeJong (drums) and Dan Howard (bass) for a concert at Place des Arts (1120 Brunette Ave., Coquitlam) at 7 p.m. Tickets are $26/$21.

Salsa steps

The Salsa Dance Zone hosts a Salsa dance lesson at 8 p.m. — followed by a dance party until midnight — at Site B Brewery in Port Moody (3012 Murray St.). Admission is $15 at the door.
