Coquitlam Rotary will be holding its annual spring shredding event in the parking lot of the Canadian Tire on Lougheed Highway at King Edward.

Spring home show

The Tri-City Home Show returns to the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex (633 Poirier St., Coquitlam) to showcase home improvement and building products as well as services, samples and specials. Design Alley Interiors hosts the Show Seminar Theatre, featuring designers Ronnie Hough and Michelle Maggs. Admission is free. The event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Spring Shredding

Get rid of your personal documents properly at the Coquitlam Spring Shredding event hosted by the Rotary Club of Coquitlam and Canadian Tire. The shredding fundraiser with Green For Life Environmental takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot of Canadian Tire (1200 Seguin Dr., Coquitlam). The shredding, via a drive-thru, is by donation by cash or card. Please remove any metal clips.

Board games

Families can bring a board game, or find a new one, at the Poirier branch of the Coquitlam Public Library (575 Poirier St.) from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Officials from Mind Games will be on site for the drop-in event, which is recommended for ages eight and older.

Express hockey

Pull on your Coquitlam Express jersey to support the hockey team on home ice as it battles the Victoria Grizzlies at the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex (633 Poirier St., Coquitlam) at 7 p.m.

Legion dance

Cut a rug at the Coquitlam branch of the Royal Canadian Legion (1025 Ridgeway Ave., Coquitlam) with the band Front Page. The music starts at 7 p.m.

Salsa night

Join the Salsa Dance Zone instructors Alberto Gonzalez and Teresa Szefler for a lesson at St. Clare’s Hall (2888 Delahaye Dr., Coquitlam) at 8 p.m. followed by a Latin dance party until midnight. Admission is $15. No partner is needed.
