Tri-Cities' 50+ residents leading regional COVID-19 immunization numbers

Week-to-week cases down to one — as well as positivity rates — in latest data from the BC Centre for Disease Control.

The average daily rate of COVID-19 cases dropped in the Tri-Cities to one.

More than four in five adults aged 50 or over (85%) have received their first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, along with just over four in five of those over the age of 18 (81%).

Immunization rates are also holding steady with Port Moody-Anmore-Belcarra, southeast and southwest Coquitlam each posting 80% or higher, with north Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam inching not too far behind at 79% each.

The data — between June 22 and 28 — in the five neighbourhoods are as follows, which includes a new statistic for vaccinations for eligible adults between 18 and 49 years old:

North Coquitlam

  • 80% of 18+ population vaccinated with at least one dose
  • 78% of 18-49 population vaccinated with at least one dose
  • 83% of 50+ population vaccinated with at least one dose

Southwest Coquitlam

  • 1% positivity rate
  • 80% of 12+ population vaccinated with at least one dose
  • 81% of 18+ population vaccinated with at least one dose
  • 78% of 18-49 population vaccinated with at least one dose
  • 86% of 50+ population vaccinated with at least one dose

Southeast Coquitlam

  • One case
  • 1% positivity rate
  • 80% of 12+ population vaccinated with at least one dose
  • 80% of 18+ population vaccinated with at least one dose
  • 76% of 18-49 population vaccinated with at least one dose
  • 85% of 50+ population vaccinated with at least one dose

Port Coquitlam

  • 79% of 12+ population vaccinated with at least one dose
  • 80% of 18+ population vaccinated with at least one dose
