One or more suspects currently possess a local resident's valuables that officers say are worth "tens of thousands of dollars."
Port Moody police (PMPD) are now turning to the public for help with the investigation in hopes of obtaining witness statements and video evidence that could help catch those involved with the daylight theft.
Officers were first called to a break-and-enter last Wednesday (Feb. 16) at a home on Hett Creek Drive — located off Parkside Drive near Bert Flinn Park and just west of Heritage Woods Secondary.
According to spokesperson Const. Sam Zacharias, the personal property was stolen from the residence roughly between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
He says officers are looking for potential CCTV, dash-cam or amateur footage from within that time span.
"We are asking Parkside-corridor residents to jog their memory for any suspicious vehicles, person or persons in the area on February 16, 2022, [...] This also includes nearby trail systems like Bert Flinn park," Zacharias explains in a release issued today (Feb. 23).
Police did not release a list of the stolen items, as of this publication.
Anyone with more information or possible video of the break-in is encouraged to call Port Moody police at 604-461-3456 and quote file-number 2022-828.
