Baskin-Robbins' Port Moody location in Suter Brook Village, due to open in September 2024, is the North American chain's second Tri-City franchise.

An oldie but goodie ice cream shop has scooped up a second location in the Tri-Cities for sweet tooths to try its 31 flavours.

Baskin-Robbins is set to open in Port Moody's Suter Brook Village in September — located at 7-201 Morrissey Rd. A grand opening date is still being determined by the North American chain.

Its owner, Adel Ashry of McMaster Group Holdings, also brought a franchise to Coquitlam Centre mall (2929 Barnet Hwy.) this past spring.

They also own other brands like Starbucks, Cheesecake Factory and American Eagle in the Middle East and North America.

The expansion is part of Baskin-Robbins' larger plan, unveiled in August 2022, to open 25 shops in Metro Vancouver and Calgary.

"Port Moody residents demonstrate they have a love for ice cream, bringing Baskin-Robbins into the mix is about giving residences variety and choice," a company spokesperson told the Tri-City News. Notable flavours include chocolate chip cookie dough, maple walnut, cherries jubilee and mango sticky rice.

"Baskin-Robbins is a leader in Frozen treats, inclusive of customized cakes, frozen beverages and Polar Pizza IC Treats and now UTHS."

There are no immediate plans, however, to open a Port Coquitlam shop and complete the Tri-City trifecta.

The first Baskin-Robbins location from the latest Canadian expansion opened in Metropolis at Metrotown in neighbouring Burnaby in July 2022.

The Suter Brook outlet will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
