The Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex in Coquitlam will temporarily close for its fall maintenance starting Oct. 10, 2023.

Coquitlam residents thinking about burning off the calories from their Thanksgiving meal this long weekend can head to the City Centre Aquatic Complex (CCAC).

Starting Tuesday, Oct. 10, the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex (PSLC) will be closed for its annual scrub down.

The fitness hub portion at 633 Poirier St. will reopen Monday, Oct. 16, while the pool will be ready on Tuesday, Oct. 24.

According to a news release, city crews will cleanse the fitness areas and tanks, as well as the equipment, lockers, change rooms, showers, lifejackets and pool toys.

In addition, the tiles will be regrouted, the paint touched up and the mechanical systems inspected and serviced.

Meanwhile, the PSLC reception desk will be open from:

  • Oct. 10 to 13 from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
  • Oct. 14 and 15 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

PSLC is a 190,000 sq. ft. recreation complex that includes ice rinks, registered and drop-in classes for fitness and swimming and the Coquitlam Sports Hall of Fame.
