A Coquitlam organization is offering a free trip around the world.

And you won’t have to travel further than the main branch of the Coquitlam Public Library at 1169 Pinetree Way.

The Low Entropy Foundation is hosting its Multicultural Connections festival June 27, from 1 to 8 p.m.

The free event showcases Canada’s diverse cultures with performances of traditional music and dance, interactive displays, workshops, food stalls and an artisan market.

As well, there will be educational discussions on multiculturalism and inclusion and a language corner where visitors can begin the journey of learning another language with mini lessons and poetry.

According to a news release, the festival will “create opportunities for Canadians to participate in celebrations that foster a sense of pride and belonging to Canada.”

The event kicks off with a ceremony honouring First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. There will also be a special Indigenous blanket exercise from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The Low Entropy Foundation works to connect people from diverse cultures and backgrounds to “nurture a more loving, respectful humanity.”
