Every stitch is the result of months of creativity and hard work.
But it's also set to represent the need to support physical, mental and emotional wellness.
Students at Coquitlam's Dr. Charles Best Secondary are putting the finishing touches on the school's 2023 fashion show for later this month, which organizers say will feature its first fully sustainable collection.
And while models strut on the runway, the Charles Best Fashion Club is also hoping local residents' and business' generosity will turn heads, too.
Entitled Elysian, the silhouette of the show will be a fundraiser as entry will be by donation with 100 per cent of the proceeds going toward the Glow Within Foundation.
The local non-profit group provides struggling young women with opportunities to be empowered through workshops, including self-defense courses and therapy, as well as other safe space resources.
Glow Within's goal is to provide confidence to those who utilize its services in their day-to-day lives.
Charles Best Fashion Club spokesperson Rochelle Marana told the Tri-City News her classmates are a group of "driven, creative" talents that have worked hard to piece the show together.
"Our main goal throughout this event is to support local creatives and talent within the community," she said.
"Our runway team has an excellent opportunity to grow and showcase its creative talents in multiple areas such as sewing, marketing, photography, directing, entrepreneurship and much more, all for the great cause of supporting our community and encouraging sustainability."
All of the clothes on display were designed and sewed by the dozen members of the Charles Best Fashion Club.
As well, local musicians will contribute to Elysian's background, while student photographers and filmmakers will walk around the stage to capture the event in all of its glamour.
"This event promises to be a one-of-a-kind experience that celebrates the power of togetherness and the limitless potential of local talent," reads the club's fashion show page.
Vendors on display will include 604 Van Resell, Chaos Crew, Grab Tindy and Lila Knitwear.
The Charles Best Fashion Club's Elysian is set to hit the spotlight on May 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the school's mini gym located at 2525 Como Lake Ave.
