Port Coquitlam cookie lovers will soon be able to enjoy flavours like Blueberry cheesecake when Crumbl Cookies opens its first British Columbia location in the city.

The self-proclaimed “world’s best chocolate chip cookie” that’s served in a pink box is coming to Port Coquitlam.

Crumbl Cookies is getting ready to open in the Clock Tower Centre at 1125 Nicola Ave.

It will be the Utah-based chain’s first bakery in British Columbia.

Crumbl launched in Logan, Utah, in 2017 after cookie-loving cousins Jason McGowan and Sawyer Hemsley embarked on a quest to produce the best chocolate chip cookie in the world.

They tried countless recipes and tested each batch on friends and family until they found the perfect balance of sweetness, texture and size.

The process took McGowan and Hemsley six months and they opened their first store, baking their signature oversized milk chocolate chip cookie in full view of customers who could take them away or order them for delivery.

Soon after, the menu expanded to include a classic pink sugar cookie. More flavours followed and by 2018 Crumbl had established a weekly rotation of four different cookies.

“We typically try to include a chocolate or vanilla base, something frosted, then add more unique flavours,” Helmsley told the trade website, bakingbusiness.com. “It’s almost like Christmas every week when a new cookie drops.”

Some of those flavours include raspberry danish, Dulce de leche, German chocolate cake, buttermilk pancake, pumpkin pie, blueberry cheesecake and orange milkshake. Each new flavour is trumpeted on Crumbl's social media accounts.

The cookies are packed side-by-side in the company's distinctive pink rectangular boxes in packs of four, six or 12.

Crumbl now has more than 900 franchise bakeries across the United States.

The company opened its first  Canadian location a year ago in Edmonton, with a lineup around the block.

It’s since added several more bakeries in Alberta, one in Saskatchewan and another is opening in Ontario this summer.

An official opening date for the Port Coquitlam location has yet to be announced.
