Slow and steady wins the race.
Potentially the correct phrase to use for the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Tri-Cities when it comes to vaccinations, but regardless, they are going up according to the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC).
North Coquitlam's sub-region saw the only increase in both first- and second-dose rates to 91 and 88 per cent, respectively — a modest one per cent increase for both categories compared to the previous week.
This helped lift the Tri-Cities' combined average to a 90.8 per cent single-vaccination status and an 88 per cent double-dose rate, both of which are above the province's numbers.
On Tuesday (Nov. 9), B.C. public health reported 90.3 per cent single-vaxxed and 86 per cent double-vaxxed rates.
In Port Coquitlam, its case rate dropped to five compared to seven between Oct. 26 and Nov. 1 — the biggest decrease among the sub-regions, indicating a lesser transmission of COVID-19 in the last week.
The latest numbers — collected by the BCCDC between Nov. 2 and 8 — are broken down as follows. Case rates represent new cases per 100,000 people by local health area and community health service area:

VACCINE CLINICS
Fraser Health is back in Coquitlam with a pair of pop-up vaccination clinics at the Poirier Administration Building today (Nov. 10) and Sunday (Nov. 14).
This will be the sixth and seventh times in the last three weeks nurses and healthcare workers will have hosted clinics at 640 Poirier St.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, eligible residents aged 12 years and older looking to get inoculated against the virus can simply walk up to the clinic, no appointment needed.
First, second and third doses against the virus are being offered as capacity and supplies allow.
If it's your first dose against COVID-19, you will need your personal health number.
If it's your second, and it's been at least 28 days since your first dose, you will need your personal health number and immunization record card.
A non-mandatory third dose is currently recommended for those in B.C. who are immuno-compromised. A full eligibility list is available on the BCCDC's website.
The mass immunization clinic at Coquitlam Central Station's Park and Ride overflow lot is also accepting walk-ins for first, second or third doses.
