The final list of Tri-City candidates is out. See who's running

Lucas Janusz is out for the BC Greens in Coquitlam–Burke Mountain while Libertarian Lewis Dahlby is now in the Port Coquitlam race.

The final list of Tri-City candidates running in this month’s provincial election was finalized last weekend.

And the Elections BC roster shows a previously declared contender out and a new nominee in for the region.

Lucas Janusz is off the chart as the BC Green Party’s pick for Coquitlam–Burke Mountain — leaving only Jodie Wickens (NDP) and Stephen Frolek (Conservatives) in the constituency race.

And, in Port Coquitlam, long-time Libertarian candidate Lewis Dahlby is now added to the provincial ballot.

Around B.C., the candidate nominations closed on Saturday, Sept. 28, showing 323 representatives seeking an MLA seat: 269 contenders are with seven political parties and 54 are running as independent or unaffiliated:

  • BC Green Party = 69
  • BC NDP = 93
  • Christian Heritage Party of B.C. = 2
  • Communist Party of BC = 3
  • Conservative Party = 93
  • Freedom Party of BC = 5
  • Libertarian = 4
  • Independent = 40
  • Unaffiliated = 14

Here’s who is campaigning in the Tri-Cities’ five electoral boundaries (asterisk indicates incumbent):

Coquitlam–Burke Mountain

  • Stephen Frolek (Conservative)
  • Jodie Wickens (NDP)

Coquitlam–Maillardville

  • Jennifer Blatherwick (NDP)
  • Ken Holowanky (Independent)
  • Hamed Najafi (Conservative)
  • Nicola Spurling (Green)

New Westminster–Coquitlam

  • Maureen Curran (Green)
  • Ndellie Massey (Conservative)
  • *Jennifer Whiteside (NDP)

Port Coquitlam

  • Keenan Adams (Conservative)
  • Adam Bremner-Akins (Green)
  • Lewis Dahlby (Libertarian)
  • *Mike Farnworth (NDP)

Port Moody–Burquitlam

  • Samantha Agtarap (Green)
  • *Rick Glumac (NDP)
  • Kerry van Aswegen (Conservative)
