Mother's Day (May 8) is just over a week away and Tri-City residents might be looking for a place to share a delicious meal with the mom in their lives.
Brunch tends to be a popular booking for the annual occasion as there's typically something for everybody, whether that's eggs, French toast, hot skillets, bellinis and something extra in the coffee.
And one restaurant reservation app says there's at least one local spot to potentially consider.
OpenTable recently unveiled its 100 best brunch spots in the nation and includes Coquitlam's Milestones Grill and Bar — located at 2745 Barnet Hwy. — as one of 33 in all of B.C.
The survey is based on the reviews of nearly 821,000 Canadian restaurants registered with the company between March 1, 2021, and Feb. 28, 2022.
OpenTable explains the data is based on a points system generated by diner rating, regional overall rating, user clout and the number of submitted reviews within that year's span.
"We are seeing pent up demand for dining out across the country with reservations up 21 per cent compared to pre-pandemic levels," explains OpenTable Canada country director Matt Davis in a news release sent to the Tri-City News.
"Mothers and mother figures will be truly celebrated this year, as they should, and OpenTable’s 100 Best Brunch list is the perfect place for inspiration as Canadians plan to honour the mother figures in their lives."
Milestones in Coquitlam is the only Tri-City establishment featured on OpenTable's brunch survey.
According to the app, brunch is served at the restaurant until 3 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
OpenTable says 66 per cent of Canadian diners believe "choosing the right restaurant is the most important part of the Mother’s Day experience."

Tourism Coquitlam says there are at least two dozen brunch spots in the city, when searching "brunch" on its website, which you can visit to learn more.
In Port Coquitlam, Pür and Simple is the new brunch spot on the block as of last summer.
And Hard Bean Brunch Co. is serving up all-day brunch favourites in Port Moody.
