A date has been set for the coroner inquest into the death of Roland Joseph Bourque, an in mate that died at the North Fraser Pre-Trial Centre in 2012.
Coroner Liana Wright and a jury will hear evidence from witnesses under oath to determine the facts surrounding the death on June 2, 2014.
The 69-year-old died at the scene and a cause of death was never released to the public.
The inquest will have the opportunity to make recommendations aimed at preventing deaths under similar circumstances.
This is the second time this week that a date has been set for an inquest for an inmate that died at the Port Coquitlam jail.
On Tuesday, the B.C. Coroners Service announced that it would be holding a public inquest into the death of David Edwin Fast, a 55-year-old who was rushed to Royal Columbian Hospital when he was found in medical distress.
His inquest will be held on June 23, 2014 at 9 a.m. at the Burnaby Coroners Court.
