Be afraid.
Be very afraid.
Coquitlam Centre will be the scene of Vancouver Horror Nights (VHN), a giant nightmare attraction that was previously held at Giggle Dam Theatre in Port Coquitlam.
This time, Mark Friebe and his crew will be bringing 100,000 sq. ft of fear and hijinks to the mall, taking over two floors of the former Sears store.
According to VHN's Facebook page, it will feature four new attractions, including a newly expanded Zombie Bar & Cafe with seating, a new midway with tons of games to play and a SAW-themed escape room.
VHN will be open from Oct. 6 to Nov. 5, 2022, at Coquitlam Centre (2929 Barnet Hwy., Coquitlam), with tickets for the spooky attraction available online now.
"It's 15 times the size of the previous Vancouver Horror Nights in Port Coquitlam," said AJ Thompson, operations manager.
Depending on your scare threshold, "there is something for all ages and all scare levels," he said. "We're across from Lincoln SkyTrain. It's going to be a massive event."
Built over the last several weeks while Giggle Dam has been closed for renovations, the site is ready; however, some of the animatronics have yet to arrive.
"We still have 45 shipments to go," said Thompson, who said crowds of curious onlookers have showed up to witness delivery of some of the props.
