One more walk around Lafarge Lake at night?
Yes, please.
The elaborate displays set up for Lights at Lafarge in Coquitlam's Town Centre Park will be twinkling for one final viewing tonight (Jan. 31).
Almost 480,000 bulbs were set up by dedicated volunteers at the end of November for the winter season in encouraging residents and visitors to get outside and enjoy the surrounding environment.
It's completely free as patrons can take a stroll around the 1.5-kilometre perimeter loop underneath arches and tunnels full of colourful lights, and even take photos with smiling bright characters.
City staff from the parks and recreation department, as well public works, joined Port Coquitlam's Star Illuminations and nearly 1,000 Park Spark volunteers to string up the bulbs, fabricate and install the holiday pieces for the annual event.
Lights at Lafarge will be on display tonight from 4 to 10:30 p.m.
For more information, you're encouraged to visit the event's page on the City of Coquitlam's website.
Commuters are being asked to use one of the stalls in the Town Centre lot when parking, or find a spot along Pinetree Way, excluding Douglas College and the Evergreen Cultural Centre.
