Port Moody's Jenna Buglioni will be the captain of the Ohio State Buckeyes women's hockey team next season after being an assistant in the 2023-24 season.

Port Moody’s Jenna Buglioni will captain the Ohio State Buckeyes women’s hockey team next season.

Her new role was announced on the team’s X feed (formerly known as Twitter).

Buglioni is entering her fifth year of eligibility at the school.

She is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Sport Management after graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Industry last fall.

After losing her first season to the COVID-19 pandemic, Buglioni has scored 109 points in 112 games since.

She had 15 goals and 23 assists in the 2023-24 season which culminated with the Buckeyes winning its second national NCAA championship in the past three years, defeating the Wisconsin Badgers 1-0 in the final at Durham, N.H.

Buglioni was ranked 31st of the top 60 forward prospects by The Hockey News heading into last week’s Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) draft, but she elected not to declare her eligibility for selection so she could attend her fifth year at Ohio State. Eight of her teammates were selected, however.

Meanwhile, one of Buglioni’s teammates, Coquitlam’s Jordan Baxter, finished her freshman season at Ohio State with five goals and five assists in 21 games.
