On Feb. 5, the Society of American Magicians (SAM) Assembly 95 presented Chris Yuill with the Carl Hemeon Award of Excellence in Magic, at its annual banquet.

It’s the second time Yuill has captured the accolade after winning it in 2020.

“I am truly humbled and honoured to receive the Carl Hemeon Award,” he said in a news release.

“This award represents not just my journey but the magic community as a whole. Magic is about bringing wonder and joy to the world and I am grateful to be part of a tradition that continues to evolve and inspire.”

In 2018, Yuill also received the assembly’s Leon Mandrake Award for Magical Entertainment.

Known for his comedic routines, Yuill has performed magic for more than 30 years including at Yuk Yuks Comedy Club, at private events with the Edmonton Oilers and at corporate parties with Coca-Cola. He’s also appeared on the TV special Off the Wall.
