RealTours host Stephen Tadagh, left, visits Mama Said Pizza Co. in the first episode of the second season of the online local travelogue show.

Port Moody is the focus of the first episode of the second season of RealTours, a kind of Lower Mainland travelogue of local communities and neighbourhoods produced by REW.ca, a sister publication of the Tri-City News.

The series of 20-minute YouTube episodes is hosted by Stephen Tadgh, an Irish filmmaker and digital content producer, who enthusiastically dives right into the locales he visits, whether it’s hoisting beers along Brewers Row or careening down the water slides at Cultus Lake.

But Tadgh’s visits aren’t just about fun and games.

He also talks to local business people, residents and community leaders to learn about a community’s history, vibe and special hidden treasures as well as real estate agents to create a picture of what it might be like to live there.

The first season’s 14 episodes, that journeyed from Mission to South Surrey to the Sunshine Coast, achieved more than three million views.

In his visit to Port Moody, Tadgh paddles a kayak off Rocky Point Park, wields a scoop at Rocky Point Ice Cream, samples food and drink at Mama Said Pizza Co. and The One Sixty wine bar and even tries his hand at reciting poetry at Brave Brewing’s open mic.

He chats about the city’s history with Freedom of the City recipient Robert Simons at the POMO Museum and talks community and business with The Little Butcher’s Taryn Barker.

Tadgh also pops up Clarke Road for a brief glimpse at the western neighbourhoods of Coquitlam.

Other communities to be covered in the 10 episodes of RealTours' second season include New Westminster, Langley, Vancouver’s West End and Cultus Lake, with more to be announced.
