Second COVID-19 vaccine doses among eligible Tri-City residents remain consistent on the upslope week over week.
Port Moody-Anmore-Belcarra continues to lead the ongoing race to full immunization, crossing a significant threshold of 80% as of Monday (Aug. 16) for those aged 12 up who've been jabbed twice.
Collectively, the latest report from the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) shows the Tri-Cities at 78% of residents with two doses, an increase of 2% from the previous data between Aug. 3 and 9.
However, other categories are also increasing as the average rate of positivity for the virus is 3.5% in local health areas and community health service areas, with 5% rates in Port Coquitlam and southeast Coquitlam alone.
The numbers — collected between Aug. 10 and 16 — broken down among the five surveillance neighbourhoods are as follows.

Meanwhile, the region is nearing a revisit to weekly triple-digit COVID-19 local health cases, per the BCCDC
In total, 86 infections of the virus were detected between Aug. 8 and 14, marking a 91% increase compared to the previous Geographic Distribution of COVID-19 by Local Health Area of Case Residence data, nearly doubling from the 45 found during the first week of August.
The Tri-Cities also posted the second-highest case count among other Fraser Health neighbourhoods behind Surrey (155) and tied with Burnaby (86).
The last time the region recorded a three-figure number of detected COVID-19 cases was 101 between May 23 and 29.
