Port Moody boaters can get back on the water.

The boat launch at Rocky Point Park is reopening on Sunday for residents of the city and current holders of an annual pass. Launch times must be booked in advance.

Physical distancing measures will be in place such as:

• staggered launch times with a maximum of two boats to be launched at a time between 8 a.m. and 12 noon, seven days a week. Boats are to return between 4 and 8 p.m.

• a maximum of 30 boats will be allowed to launch each day, with 30 spaces reserved for trailers in the parking lot.

* two lanes for launching boats instead of the usual three, and traffic will be managed to reduce congestion.

Reservations for launch times can be made up to two weeks in advance beginning today (Saturday).

These arrangements will be reviewed after two weeks to assess demand and the effectiveness of the physical distancing protocols.
