Port Mann project team surveys satisfaction

The Port Mann/Highway 1 Project Team is gauging drivers' satisfaction with the ongoing work by reaching out in an online survey.

Conducted by the marketing research company Mustel Group, the survey asks questions around people's knowledge of the project itself, such as the number of lanes being added along various stretches of the highway, and their opinion on the safety measures in place around construction areas.

"This survey is really a way to measure the effectiveness of our communications," said Greg Johnson, communications manager for the Transportation Investment Corporation, the Crown corporation tasked with overseeing the project.

Feedback on the project's traffic and construction-related communications will be compiled and used to measure whether the project team is meeting its goals of "minimizing disruption and maximizing predictability" when it comes to keeping stakeholders informed, whether through bulletins, emails, social media and phone calls.

Survey results will also be included in the 2012 annual report, which will be published next spring.
