Pool, sauna, steam room and hot-tub lovers will have to get their warm-water fix somewhere else during annual maintenance at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre (PCCC).
From April 11 to 21, the city is set to close the facilities to allow the scheduled annual maintenance work to go ahead and ensure health and safety regulations are met.
This year, maintenance work includes the following:
- Draining and repairing pool tiles
- Re-grouting
- Cleaning tiles and grout
- Painting
- Preventative maintenance work on mechanical system
- Miscellaneous repairs
But there is an alternative for local residents hoping for a dip this spring.
Port Coquitlam's Hyde Creek Recreation Centre pool, at 1379 Laurier Ave., and its recreation amenities will be open.
For full schedule details, you can visit the pools page of the city's website.
In addition, PCCC will continue to offer several services and fitness facilities during the annual pool shutdown, a news release notes.
This includes the Wilson Lounge, weight room, arenas and the gymnasium during regular hours of operation.
As well, the customer service attendants will be available to answer questions and process program registrations.
